The Los Amigos High School football team locked up no worse than a tie for the Garden Grove League title with a 34-7 win over La Quinta on Thursday night.
The Lobos – 8-2 overall and 4-1 in league – must now await the outcome of Friday’s game between Rancho Alamitos (8-1, 3-1) and Santiago (6-3, 2-2). If the Vaqueros prevail in that one, they’ll share the GGL crown with Los Amigos. It will also mean a fifth consecutive league title for RAHS.
Also on Thursday night, Loara upset Bolsa Grande 34-23, spoiling the Matadors’ chances for their first winning record in years and a CIF-SS playoff spot.
Bolsa finishes the season with a 5-5 overall mark, 2-3 in league. Loara is 4-6 and 2-3.
