WESTMINSTER HIGH has advanced to the CIF-SS Division 5 boys’ water polo playoffs (Shutterstock).

The Westminster High School boys’ water polo team will host Don Lugo High of Chino in a CIF-SS Division 5 semifinals match on Wednesday. 

If the Lions (24-8 overall) win, they will face the winner of the San Dimas vs. Buena Park contest in the championship final on Saturday at the Woolett Aquatics Center in Irvine.

WHS is led by senior Jason Stoddard, who has scored 177 goals so far this season.

The Lions defeated Royal High of Simi Valley 9-8 to advance to the semis.
