The House committee investigating the Jan. 6, 2021 attack on the U.S. Capitol issued its final report today (Monday) and urged the Justice Department to press criminal charges against former president Donald Trump and others.

According to the Associated Press, Trump is alleged to have violated four federal laws, including conspiracy to defraud the United States, obstruction of an official proceeding of Congress, conspiracy to make a false statement and aiding an insurrection, the latter referring to the storming of the Capitol building by right-wing extremists seeking to prevent certification of the election of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris as president and vice president of the United States.

The committee, consisting of seven Democrats and two Republicans, voted 9-0 to approve the final report.
