Before a Congress that gave him a standing ovation, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Wednesday thanked “every American” for the military aid and other support the U.S has extended to his nation in its effort to repel Russian invaders.
According to the Associated Press, he predicted that 2023 would be a “turning point” in the struggle against Russia.
Before appearing before a joint session of Congress, he met with President Joe Biden at the White House.
He thanked Biden for the Patriot anti-missile system the U.S will be sending to Ukraine, but added that once it was received, he would ask for more.
Report on Jan. 6 riot released Thursday
The Jan. 6 panel of the House of Representatives will release its final report Thursday on the attack on the U.S. Capitol, an 800-page volume that will – according to published reports – argue that the principal cause of what’s being called an “insurrection” was the urging of former president Donald Trump and his unsupported claim that his defeat in the 2020 presidential election was caused by “massive fraud.”

He was best-known for one of the most amazing pass plays in football history in 1972, which would launch the once-pitied Pittsburgh Steelers into an NFL dynasty.
Franco Harris made a shoe-string catch – termed such a miracle it’s been called the “Immaculate Reception” – that helped beat the Oakland Raiders in a key game. He died on Wednesday.
In his career, he won four Super Bowl rings, rushed for 12,120 yards and was named to the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
