Saturday night was a pretty good night for some West Orange County high school basketball teams as three of them won and advanced to the quarterfinals next week of the CIF-SS playoffs.

On the boys’ side, Orangewood Academy of Garden Grove defeated El Rancho 82-51 in a Division 3AA game and will visit Camarillo on Tuesday.

Girls’ action saw Pacifica defeat Edgewood 39-26 and Marina slip past El Rancho 40-39, both in Division 5AA games. Both will next be in action on Wednesday.

Orange High, however, lost narrowly to Malibu 43-42 in Division 5A play to finish the Panther season at 16-8.

IN BOYS’ SOCCER play on Saturday, Edison lost 2-0 to Santa Ana Valley in a 3A game and Rancho Alamitos fell 6-1 to Gabrielino in a 7A clash.
