
A MAN is in stable condition after being shot by police in Santa Ana on Friday night (Shutterstock).
A traffic stop in Santa Ana on Friday evening erupted into a shooting incident that sent a man to the hospital.
According to SAPD, the incident occurred around 6:41 p.m. A two-man police unit was conducting a traffic stop at 500 S. Rosewood Ave. on a vehicle occupied by two male adults.
During that stop, a shooting incident occurred between a suspect armed with a handgun and an officer. The suspect sustained gunshot wounds to his upper and lower torso.
Orange County Fire Authority firefighter/paramedics treated the suspect, who was transported to a local hospital where he was listed in stable condition.
The other occupant and officers were not hurt. SAPD detectives recovered a firearm at the scene.
