Police investigate fatal shooting

A MAN was fatally shot in Garden Grove early Thursday morning (Shutterstock).

Garden Grove police detectives are investigating the fatal shooting of a man early Thursday morning.

According to Sgt. Nick Jensen of the GGPD, officers were dispatched to the 12300 block of Trask Avenue (east of Harbor Boulevard) at around 3:45 a.m. in reference to a report of a man lying down on the sidewalk.

Upon arrival, they found a man – identified only as a male Hispanic, 25-to-35 years old – unconscious and suffering from a gunshot wound.

Other police responded along with personnel from the Orange County Fire Authority and the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. 

At this time, said Sgt. Jensen, there is no suspect information and police are seeking help from the public. Anyone with information that would be useful to the investigation is asked to call GGPD Detective Rogers at (714) 741-5413 or GGPD Dispatch at (714) 741-5704.
