COVID cases, deaths stable

The rate of confirmed new cases of coronavirus in Orange County appears to gave settled into a relatively low level.

According to the county health care agency, this week’s number of new cases is 437, a slight increase from 436 last week and drop from 548 the week before.

Deaths are down slightly to 11 from 12 last week and 25 the week before.

The county no longer releases statistics on hospitalizations and the use of intensive care units to treat COVID-19 patients.

To date, Orange County has had 723,123 cases of coronavirus and 9,933 deaths.
