The new student representative will be presented to the Garden Grove Unified School District Board of Education when it meets on Tuesday.

Stephanie Heflin, assistant superintendent for secondary education, will make the presentation of the GGUSD student who will sit with the school board for the 2023-2024 school year.

Also, there will be a public hearing on the initial contract proposal from the California School Employees Association local, which represents classified employees such as bus drivers, secretaries, cafeteria workers, etc.

A closed session will be held to evaluate the performance of district Superintendent Gabriela Mafi at 1:05 p.m. and at the end of the meeting.

A closed study session is scheduled for 6 p.m. on the California School Board Association Governance Workshop.

The regular board meeting will be held at 7 p.m.  in the GGUSD Annex board room, adjacent to the main building which is undergoing extensive renovations.

The GGUSD serves most of Garden Grove and parts of Anaheim, Cypress, Fountain Valley, Santa Ana, Stanton and Westminster.
