FIREFIGHTERS battle a blaze on a boat in Huntington Harbour (HBFD photo).

A boat fire in Huntington Harbor this afternoon (Wednesday) was quickly extinguished by the Huntington Beach Fire Department.

According to the HBFD, the blaze was at a boat dock in a residential area in the 16000 block of Cotuit Circle.

The Orange County Sheriff Department’s Harbor Patrol assisted from the water, providing an additional firefighting platform during the blaze.

After the fire was out, the HBFD Hazardous Materials team placed absorbent booms in the water to cope with possible fuel, fluids or other runoff from the fire-damaged boat.

There were no injuries reported and the cause of the blaze is under investigation.
