Last year the Westminster Lions came close to winning the Pac-4 championship. They should be at least as strong this year as the squad that compiled a 10-2 record and advanced to the second round of the CIF-SS Division 11 playoffs in 2022.
Coach Steven Anderson’s team has five starters on offense back, and seven on defense. The Lions don’t have their starting quarterback returning, but good things are expected from senior Benny Burns, who will be the signal-caller.
Ezekiel Cedillo, who doubles as running back and safety, is the Lions chief offensive weapon. Anchoring the line will be Kiso Logoleo, also a senior.
Last year WHS lost 21-14 to Laguna Beach for the Pac-4 title. They’ll get a chance for payback on Friday, Oct. 27 when they host the Breakers at Bill Boswell Field.
