Edison High of Huntington Beach squared its record at 1-1 with a 17-0 victory over Leuzinger High of Lawndale on Friday night. 

The Chargers got 123 yards rushing and a touchdown from Julius Gillick in the non-league contest.

Edison will be in action again visiting Palos Verdes on Friday, Sept. 8.

The other local victor on Friday night was La Quinta, which defeated Godinez Fundamental 23-0  in a non-league game. The win improved the Aztecs’ record to 1-1.

Next up for the Blue and Gold is Saddleback (0-2) on Thursday, Aug. 31.

Magnolia lost 63-0 to Valencia and Loara fell 50-7 to Estancia.
