HOME SECURITY CAMERA screen grab of crime scene (WPD),

A daring home invasion in Westminster was broken up by a whispered 911 call to police.

According to Sgt. Eddie Esqueda of the WPD, one person was arrested and another three are being sought.  Danny Sommay, 29, of Banning, was charged with kidnapping, robbery, burglary, conspiracy to commit a felony, possession of a loaded stolen firearm and armed criminal action.

The incident began on Monday around 10:40 p.m. when officers were dispatched to the 8900 block of Pebble Beach Circle (southwest of McFadden Avenue and Magnolia) in response to a female caller whispering that she needed help.

Within three minutes officers arrived at the home and saw four males running out the front door. The suspects were wearing masks and armed with pistols as they fled, according to Sgt. Esqueda. One of them – identified as Sommay – was taken into custody in front of the home after he allegedly threw his handgun over a brick wall.

The gun was recovered and found to be a loaded 9mm weapon reported as stolen.

Inside the home, officers found five victims, including an elderly woman, a 14-year-old boy and a 7-year-old girl as well as an adult male and female. The victims told police that the suspects had forced their way into the home with handguns.

One of the suspects pushed the man to the ground and used a stun gun on him. Four of the victims were tied up in the living room as the suspects demanded to know where the valuables were kept. However, the woman was able to hide in a closet and call 911.

A search of the area, aided by a Huntington Beach helicopter, was conducted but was unable to locate the other suspects.

Sommay was booked into Orange County Jail in Santa Ana on $1 million bail.

Anyone with information about this incident its asked to call Detective M. Pierson at (714) 548-3759.
