Statistics on coronavirus in Orange County aren’t skyrocketing, but aren’t exactly fading either.

According to the Orange County Heath Care Agency, the count of new confirmed cases for the week ending Sept. 13 is 1,477. That’s down from 1,706 for the previous week, but is the fifth consecutive week in which the count topped 1,000 cases, and is the second highest weekly total in months.

Deaths attributed to COVID-19 were at 12, a decrease from last week’s 16, but still among the highest of the summer.

To date, Orange County has had 735,835 confirmed cases and 8,305 deaths.
