A NEW MASSAGE spa will open on Garden Grove Boulevard (OC Tribune photo).

A large new massage business has received approval of a request for a conditional use permit from the Garden Grove Planning Commission.

On Thursday night, planners voters 5-0 in favor of a permit for the 128 Luxury Spa, which will occupy the ground floor of the two-story building at 10868 Garden Grove Blvd., between Taft Street and Century Boulevard in the downtown area.

Also approved on Thursday were:

• a conditional use permit for a new 795-foot tattoo parlor – White Lotus Society – at 8550 Garden Grove Blvd, the corner with Wilson Street;
• a general plan amendment changing land use designation of property at 13621 Harbor Blvd. from Industrial to International West (tourist).

Withdrawn from consideration was a request for a conditional use permit to add two pool tables to The Wharf Restaurant at 12941 Main St. and extend operating hours from 11 p.m. to 2 a.m. daily.
