A GARDEN GROVE man was arrested Friday for the sexual assault of a minor (Shutterstock).

A 32-year-old sexual assault suspect was arrested Friday by Garden Grove police in connection with two incidents.

According to Sgt. Mark Lord of the GGPD, the suspect is Eric Andrew Carino. He is accused of sexually assaulting a female juvenile he met through a “popular social media platform.”

He allegedly arranged to meet the girl despite knowing  she was underage. She showed up, but asked to be taken home. Carino is accused of ignoring her request and taking her to his home in Garden Grove where he assaulted her.

Carino then took her to her home and blocked her on social media, police say.

The victim identified Carino and DNA evidence is being processed by the Orange County Crime Lab. During the investigation, a 2021 sexual assault case from the Orange County Sheriff’s Department was linked to Carino.

Carino was arrested and a search warrant was executed at his home where “additional evidence” related to the case was found.
