THE NUMBER of confirmed new cases of coronavirus in Orange County County is down down again this week (Shutterstock).

The statistics on the coronavirus in Orange County are mixed this week, but generally support the idea that the “surge” in new cases has ended.

Orange County Heath Care Agency reports that for the week ending on Wednesday (Oct. 25) the number of confirmed new cases slipped to 515 from 530 the week before and 1,706, four weeks before that.

Deaths also declined from 19 last week to 16 this week. However, cases currently hospitalized is at 102, a rise from 80 the week before.

To date, Orange County has had 740,331 cases and 8,396 deaths.
