
FOR THE 12th year in a row, the Garden Grove High girls’ tennis team is the league champions.The Argos finish the season undefeated in the Golden West League. This is the Argonauts 27th overall league title in girls’ tennis covering a period stretching from the Garden Grove League to the Golden West League. Football may be getting most of the publicity in high school sports this fall, but there are other sports in playoff action starting this week as well, such as girls’ team tennis.
Seven teams from our West Orange County area begin CIF-SS play Wednesday or Friday,
In Division 1 play, first round action starts on Friday, Nov. 3 with Huntington Beach visiting Camarillo. The rest of the divisions will begin on Wednesday, Nov. 1.
Division 4 play will see La Quinta hosting Oak Hills, while Garden Grove hosts Burroughs High of Riverside.
Three local teams will be in Division 5 action. Bolsa Grande will host Coachella Valley, while Western will host Chino, and Magnolia will visit Rim of the World.
Division 6 will see Los Amigos at Rancho Verde.
