Looks a lot like Christmas …

Now that Thanksgiving is over and most of the turkey has been cleared out of your refrigerator, get ready to get stuffed with Christmas holiday events, both sacred and secular.

Many of the events are intended to embrace all the winter holidays and are non-denominational.

Here’s a list of some of the coming events planned for our West Orange County cities of Garden Grove, Huntington Beach, Stanton and Westminster.

Garden Grove

  “Winter in the Grove” will be held at the Village Green park at Main and Euclid streets in the historic downtown area.

 It’s scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 2 from 3-7 p.m. There will be entertainment, crafts, snow slides and a visit from Mr. and Mrs. Claus. There’s no charge for admission.

 “Jingle Jam” in Eastgate Park in West Garden Grove will be held on Friday, Dec. 9 from 5-9 p.m.

 The Garden Grove Historical Society will hold its Holiday Sale on Dec. 1 and 2 (Friday and  Saturday) from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Stanley Ranch Museum, 12174 Euclid St. (just south of Chapman Avenue).

 Also at the Stanley Ranch will be a visit by the Bolsa Grande High School Choir on Tuesday, Dec. 5 at 7 p.m. Coffee and Christmas cookies will be served.

 “The Holiday Gem” opens this weekend (Nov. 24) continues through Dec.17 at the Gem Theater on Main Street in Garden Grove. Performances will be Thursday through Saturday at 8 p.m. Go to:  https://www.thegemoc.com. 

Huntington Beach

  The “Cruise of Lights” will be held in Huntington  Harbour from Dec. 16-18 and 21-23, a 45-minute narrated boat tour. For tickets and information, go to https://www.cruiseoflights.org.

   Note: The Surf City Winterwonderland event with an ice-skating rink will not be held this year.

   “Holiday Christmas Carolers” will be strolling and spreading cheer though the Bella Terra center at Edinger Avenue and Beach Boulevard on Fridays and Saturdays  in December – 1, 2, 8, 9, 15, 16. It’s free to attend and pets are welcome. Singing is from 5-6 p.m.

  “Let It Snow” with the Snow Queen and Princess will have “real” snow falling on The Green at Bella Terra on Dec. 2, 3, 10, 16, 17, 23 from 5-7 p.m.

Stanton

  The annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony will be held at Stanton City Hall on Thursday, Dec. 7 at 6:30 p.m.

The theme is “Holidays Around the World” and will feature Santa Claus coming for photos. The civic center is located at 7800 Katella Ave., west of Beach Boulevard.

Westminster

   Monday, Dec. 4 is the date for the city’s tree-lighting ceremony, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Civic Center, 8200 Westminster Blvd. There will be Santa photos, community performances, activities, games and crafts, food trucks and more.
