Businesses operating without a business license will be discussed according to the agenda for Tuesday’s meeting of the Stanton City Council.
Mayor David Shawver requested a discussion on this item at the Nov. 14 city council meeting. The discussion will cover what actions the city can take to ensure all businesses have business licenses and what actions may be taken for those operating without an active business license.
Also on the agenda is a discussion regarding a review of the campaign contributions and the Levine Act and potentially setting a city-specific limit and policy.
The purpose of the Levine Act is to prevent public officials who are members of boards or commissions or heads of agencies from being influenced by campaign contributions from individuals and parties appearing before them.
Additionally, the city reached the end of the 12-month pilot program to livestream city council meetings and will discuss the continuation of it.
The council will meet at 6:30 p.m. in its council chambers at 7800 Katella Ave. (west of Beach Boulevard).
