New cases rise to 751 from 437

NEW CORONAVIRUS cases in Orange County increased this week to 761 from 437 (Shutterstock).

A blip or an indicator?  The number of confirmed new cases of coronavirus reported this week in Orange County  hit a new two-month high.

The statistics posted this week by the county health care agency showed 761 new cases, a sharp increase from last week, when 437 new cases were noted. The week before that was at 523.

The other three major categories showed increases as well. Deaths increased to 11 from seven. Hospitalizations rose to 104 from 58 . Intensive care use for coronavirus cases is at 15, up from four.
