ANOTHER meeting will be held Friday morning on whether to place a measure on the March 2024 ballot about raising the sales tax in Westminster by a half-cent (Shutterstock).

Another special meeting of the Westminster City Council has been called for Friday at 10 a.m. to consider placing a measure on the March 5, 2024 ballot asking voters if they want to add a one-half cent city sales tax. The open session will be held in the Council Chambers, 8200 Westminster Blvd.

A meeting was held on Wednesday afternoon but there was not action because two of the the five council members were absent. Four votes are needed to proceed with placing the issue on the ballot.

The deadline for submitting the documents to the Registar of Voters office in Santa Ana is closing time – 5 p.m. – on Friday.
