Gaza aid resolution is delayed

UNITED NATIONS building.
Despite support from the United States, a resolution by the UN Security Council to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza was delayed again on Thursday.
The delay is ascribed by a request by UN diplomats to consult their governments for directions. The latest version of the resolution would include a call for an immediate cease-fire but does ask for “urgent steps toward a sustainable cessation of hostilities.”
A vote is expected on Friday.
