A fatal traffic collision in Huntington Beach Thursday night took the life of a pedestrian.
According to the HBPD, the incident took place at Warner Avenue and Gothard Street at around 6:30 p.m. involving a white Nissan Rogue and a 68-year-old man walking along the street.

Arriving officers found the driver of the Rogue, a 25-year-old Huntington Beach woman, unhurt. She remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.

The pedestrian, a Huntington Beach man, was unconscious in the roadway. He was taken to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead. Impairment does not appear to be a factor with the motorist, say police.

It appears that the Rogue was traveling eastbound on Warner and struck the pedestrian west of the intersection with Gothard.

Anyone who may have witnessed the collision or the events leading up to it is asked to call HBPD Traffic Investigator C. Houston at (714) 536-5559
