
COMMUNITY Emergency Response Teams teach important skills in dealing with emergencies (City of Garden Grove photo).
The registration deadline for the Garden Grove Emergency Response Team (CERT) is on Thursday, Feb. 1. CERT offers the opportunity to learn how to prepare for and recover from disasters, as well as life-saving skills for yourself and others.
Training will take place:
• Thursday, Feb. 8, 6-9 p.m.
• Thursday, Feb. 15, 6-9 p.m.
• Thursday, Feb. 22, 6-9 p.m.
• Saturday, Feb. 24, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Stanton State of the City event on Wednesday, Feb. 14
The annual “State of the City” event for Stanton will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 14 at 9 a.m. at City Hall, 7800 Katella Ave.
The free community event will feature news from each department of the City of Stanton.

Rules for posting political signs in Huntington Beach
• Signs may be posted beginning Jan. 15, but must be removed by March 15.
• Signs may be posted on private property, but only with the permission of the property owner. Maximum sign size is 8 square feet combined on private property, 42 inches max height in front yard, & may not be attached to any roof.
• Signs may be posted on public property and may not be affixed to trees, shrubs, or other landscape materials.
• Signs may NOT be posted anywhere that could create a traffic or safety hazard.
– Signs may NOT be posted on county property, i.e. river channel fencing.
