President Joe Biden won’t face any possible charges in connection with his possession of classified documents, but the special counsel’s report out Thursday had some bad news with the good for Biden.

Special counsel Robert Hur alleged that Biden “willfully” kept and shared classified information when he was a private citizen, but the breach was not sufficient to press criminal charges.

However, the report also says that Biden’s memory is “poor” and “hazy,” raising questions about the 81-year -old chief executive’s mental state.

Biden spoke to the press, seeking to rebut Hur’s statements about his keeping the documents, and angrily rebuffed Hur’s remarks about his memory, especially the issue of whether he could remember the date of his son Beau’s death.

High court skeptical about barring Trump

The U.S. Supreme Court heard arguments Thursday on the issue of whether former president Donald Trump should be deprived of a spot on the ballot because of charges he encouraged “insurrection” in the Jan. 6, 2021 attack on the U.S. Capitol by his supporters.

It appeared that most of the justices were skeptical of whether such a prohibition could be applied without a conviction or confession and whether the 14^th Amendment – which bars people involved in insurrection or rebellion from serving in public office applies to the president.

Another issue raised is that states barring a candidate would deprive voters of the opportunity to make a choice for presidency.

Sports: Lakers lose to Nuggets

The Los Angeles Lakers saw their three-game winning streak snapped on Thursday night, losing 114-106 to the Denver Nuggets at home.

The loss put the team’s record at 27-26.  Anthony Davis scored 32 points to lead his team. The Lakers will be next in action against the New Orleans Pelicans tonight (Friday).

When was the last time the weatherperson promised you a sunny weekend? Well, we could have one in our West Orange County area. The forecast calls for partly cloudy skies on Friday with a high of 61 and a low of 44. But Saturday and Sunday should provide sunny days. The daytime temps will range from 64 to 65 and overnight and lows to 43 to 44. Monday will be almost as good, with mostly sunny skies and a high of 65 (45).
