Three local high school boys basketball teams survived Friday night’s CIF-SS second round games to advance to the quarterfinal rounds next week.

In the Division 2A game, Marina defeated Temescal Canyon 66-57.

Huntington Beach closed out its season with a Division 3-A loss to Northwood of Irvine. Division 4A was a wash-out for local teams as both Pacifica and Santiago suffered losses.

The Mariners fell 53-38 to San Pedro’s Mary Star of the Sea and the Cavaliers fell to Temecula Valley by 76-54.

In 5AA, Los Amigos kept rolling with a 70-46 win over Coachella Valley/Thermal.

In the other second round 5AA game, pitting Rancho Alamitos defeated Anaheim by the score of 72-55.
