Meetings of Westminster City Council may be famous for their political fireworks, but it’s not always that way.
When the council meets Wednesday night it will undertake an agenda with mostly “housekeeping items.”
There will be a study session at 4 p.m., a closed session at 5:30 p.m. and the open session at 6 p.m.
Items on the agenda include:
• awarding of a contract for a playground renovation project for Newcastle Park;
• approval of out-of-state travel for up to two council members to attend the Innovating Commerce Serving Communities (ICSC) 2024 Conference in Las Vegas from May 19 through 21;
• a resolution approving the City of Westminster’s participation in the West Orange County Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) memorandum of understanding.
• Proclamation of February as Black History Month.
The council meets in its chamber at 8200 Westminster Blvd.
