The Pacifica  High School softball team advanced to the CIF-SS Division 1 championship finals with a 1-0 semifinal win over JSerra on Saturday at the Mariner diamond.

The M’s will play Orange Lutheran on Saturday, May 18 at Deanna Manning Stadium in Irvine. The Lancers defeated Mesa High of Murrieta 13-1 in the other semifinal game.

Pacifica is 26-2 on the season; Orange Lutheran is 21-3.

Senior second baseman Malia Cuevas drove in the winning run for Pacifica with a two-out single in the fifth.

Brynne Nally pitched a three-hit shutout and she struck out eight batters.

The Mariners are the defending Division champions, beating Norco 15-9 in the finals in 2023.
