President Biden warns against “extremist forces” in address

MOREHOUSE COLLEGE in Atlanta, Georgia (Morehouse College).

Warning against “extremist forces,” President Joe Biden on Friday delivered the commencement address at Morehouse College in Atlanta.

While speaking at Morehouse, an historically black men’s college, Biden said that extremists “peddle a fiction, a character about what being a man is about – tough talk, abusing power, bigotry. Their idea of being a man is toxic.”

At a time when many college campuses have been roiled by protests related to the Israeli-Hamas conflict, this event was quiet.

The only evidence of protest was seven students at the commencement sat with their backs to Biden during his remarks.

The college honored Biden with an honorary degree.

Iran president’s helicopter found

There are conflicting reports about the crash of the helicopter carrying Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi.

EBRAHIM RAISI, president of Iran (Wikipedia).

Initial reports said that the copter suffered a “hard landing” and that rescue efforts were underway.

Later, rescuers spotted the copter from a distance of two miles and reported that it had crashed in a mountainous area and “no sign of life” was detected.

The incident came after Iran in April fired drones and missiles at Israel, most of which were knocked down.

Raisi’s tenure as president has been controversial and there have been demonstrations about both the economy and women’s rights.
