A GARDEN GROVE woman died in a traffic accident in Santa Ana on Tuesday (Shutterstock).

A pre-dawn traffic collision in Santa Ana took the life of a 66-year-old Garden Grove woman on Tuesday.

According to the SAPD, Maria Quinones was riding in a Honda Civic around 4:15 a.m. when her vehicle collided with a Jeep Rubicon at the intersection of Tustin Avenue and 17th Street.

She was pronounced dead at the scene by Orange County Fire Authority paramedics;  the male driver of the Honda was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries and later discharged.

The driver of the Jeep remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation, which is ongoing. Neither drugs nor alcohol appear to be factors in the incident.
