Two people were killed Sunday morning in Huntington Beach when an Amazon cargo van and a Toyota sport utility vehicle collided.
According to the HBPD, the incident took place around 10 a.m. in the area of Bolsa Avenue and Graham Street. Arriving officers found a 61-year-old Garden Grove resident and his adult female passenger deceased at the scene of the crash.
The driver of the Freightliner van, a 39-year-old Fountain Valley man, was taken to a local hospital with injuries which were not considered life-threatening. He cooperated with investigators and impairment doesn’t appear to be a factor, said police.
It’s unknown if the driver of the Toyota was impaired.
It’s believed that the van was traveling eastbound on Bolsa Avenue and entered the intersection at Graham Street on a green light. It collided with the Toyota Sienna which was traveling south in the intersection on Graham.
The collision investigation is ongoing. Anyone who may have witnessed the collision or the events leading up to it is asked to contact Traffic Investigator V. Rattanchandani at (714) 536-5231.
