The Los Angeles Angels and the Los Angeles Dodgers have been going in different directions for most of the 2024 season.
However, on Tuesday they had similar results.
The Angels lost 10-5 to the Minnesota Twins on the road and the Dodgers were defeated 6-3 by the Chicago Cubs in Chavez Ravine.
After falling behind 6-0, the Halos rallied with four runs in the fifth inning. The key hit was a three-run home run by Zach Neto, but the Twins outscored the Angels 4-1 the rest of the way. Niko Kavadas had a good day at bat, going 3-for-4.
With the loss, the Orange County team is 60-85 and in fifth place in the American League West.
A 3-1 lead by the Blue Crew didn’t hold up as the visiting Cubs scored five runs in the eighth inning. The Dodgers got homers from Tommy Edman and Max Mundy in building that edge, but the roof fell in the late going.
The home team committed three fielding errors, allowing the Cubs to pull away, capped by a two-run homer by Nico Hoernor.
With the loss, the Dodgers are 86-59 and still in first place in the National League West, leading San Diego by 4.5 games.
