The Los Amigos High football team finished its pre-league schedule unbeaten, defeating Western Christian High of Upland 44-12 Thursday night at Monsoor Stadium on the Garden Grove High campus.
Featuring a strong running attack, the orange-and-black were led by Isaac Galindo who ran for 164 yards and one TD, and QB Jayvin Le who added three more scores on the ground.
The Lobos (5-0) will open Sigma League play on Friday, Oct. 4 by visiting Ocean View High.
However, a local team on Friday left the ranks of the unbeaten as Rancho Alamitos (now 4-1) lost to Corona High 34-14.
The Tribune’s top-ranked High Five team, Edison High of Huntington Beach, improved to 4-2 with a 32-21 win Friday over La Serna.
Sam Thompson passed for 210 yards and two scores and ran for 39 more. Julius Gillick rushed for155 yards and two scores for the Chargers.
Second-ranked Western posted a big win over long-time rival Anaheim by the score of 48-0.
Marina (5-0), in third, was idle this week as was fourth-rated Huntington Beach (3-2).
Los Amigos is ranked fifth.
La Quinta (5-0) stayed unbeaten with a 48-14 win over Compton Early College.
