Two suspects are at large in a “targeted” shooting incident in Westminster in which a victim suffered two gunshot wounds.
According to Commander Andy Stowers of the WPD, the incident took place on Wednesday around 9:30 p.m. in the area of Goldenwest Street and Trask Avenue.
Officers were dispatched there in regard to a report of a shooting. When they arrived, they learned that an “unknown” male, standing on a street corner, fired several rounds of gunfire into a vehicle occupied by a vehicle with two adults and their 8-month-old infant.
The driver was stuck and sustained what are termed “non-life-threatening” gunshot wounds. The female passenger and child were not hit.
Investigators believe the attack was planned ahead of time and the victim was “targeted” for unknown reasons. The suspects – shooter and a driver – left the scene in a black sedan.
Anyone with information regarding the shooting is asked to call Detective Tran at (714) 549-3810 or the WPD watch commander at (714) 898-3767.
