There are a lot of powerful high school softball programs but in this area, it’s hard to argue that the title doesn’t belong to the Pacifica Mariners.
Over the years, the M’s have won dozens of league titles, a fistful of CIF-SS championships and even one national crown.
Coming off a state championship last year, Coach Tony Arduino’s 2025 team is already off and running with a 6-5 win over Notre Dame of Sherman Oaks and 10-2 victory over King High of Riverside.
Taken together with last year’s record, the blue, black and white have won 13 games in a row.
The Mariners are ranked 37th in the nation and will be next in action on Thursday against La Habra High’s Highanders, who are off to a 3-1 start.
After that, they’ll play Gahr High of Artesia on Saturday to open a tournament.
