The appointment of a new city attorney greets the Westminster City Council when it meets on Wednesday.

Before the council is an amendment to an agreement with the Law Office of Jones and Mayer to appoint Scott Porter to that position, replacing Christian Bettenhausen, who has served since 2021.
Porter will assume his duties on March 13.

Also on the agenda is a request for a special permit to hold a Black April Memorial Ceremony on April 30 at Sid Goldstein Freedom Park, 14180 All American Way.

Also, there will be the presentation of a proclamation for National Women’s History Month and the recognition of five “2025 Women of Distinction” nominees.

The next meeting of the council is set for Wednesday, March 26 at 6 p.m.
