An update on the city’s strategic plan to address homelessness tops Tuesday’s meeting of the Garden Grove City Council.

Garden Grove, like most other cities, has over the years seen a sharp increase in the public health and law enforcement concerns.

Among the various local initiatives to cope with such problems is the Central Cities Navigation Center, located in Garden Grove and operated in partnership with the cities of Fountain Valley and Westminster.

It has 85 beds available for men, women and couples. At last posting, 78 beds were occupied and there’s been a reported decrease in homeless contacts in the last year in the city.

Also on the agenda is an update on the economic development strategic plan for the city.

Additionally, the community spotlight will be in recognition of the Sister City Association of Garden Grove Exchange Student Ambassadors visiting Anyang, Republic of (South) Korea.

The meeting is set to being to begin at 6:30 p.m. in the Community Meeting Center, 11300 Stanford Ave.
