President Donald Trump had harsh words against Russian President Vladimir Putin on Sunday, threatening to slap tariffs on Russia as a consequence.

Putin had proposed – as term of a cease-fire – that Ukraine to be temporarily under “external governance.”

He suggested Ukrainian President Volodymyr lacked legitimacy since his term expired last year. The nation’s constitution forbids the holding of elections when martial law is in effect.

Trump said that if Russia blocked a ceasefire, he would place “a 25 to 50-point tariff on [Russian] oil.”

Musk and $1 million checks

While campaigning in Green Bay, Wisconsin on Sunday, billionaire Elon Musk handed out two giant $1 million checks to supporters of the candidate he wants to see win a seat in the state Supreme Court.

“What’s happening on Tuesday is a vote for which party controls the U.S. House of Representatives,” he said.

The Republican Party holds a narrow edge in the House, and the election of a Democrat to the court could affect redistricting in the House and swing the majority to that party.

Sports: Good day for Dodgers, Angels

Both LA-OC Major League Baseball teams had good Sundays. The Los Angeles Dodgers (5-0) remained unbeaten with a 7-3 victory over the visiting Detroit Tigers at Chavez Ravine.

The Blue Crew got home runs from Freddie Freeman, Will Smith and Tommie Edman all went deep.

The Los Angeles Angels (2-1) got an eighth inning solo home run by Kyren Paris to defeat the Chicago White Sox 3-2 in the Windy City.

Jack Kochanowicz pitched six innings, yielding four hits and two earned runs. He struck out four and walked none.
