
A FIRE in a strip mall on Brookhurst Street in Garden Grove on Thursday morning was quickly extinguished (OCFA photo).
A quick response to a fire inside a commercial strip center in Garden Grove on Thursday morning kept the blaze from spreading to other businesses.
According to the Orange County Fire Authority, the call reporting the fire in the 13900 block of Brookhurst Street (north of Westminster Avenue) came in shortly before 10 a.m.
In three minutes, OCFA firefighters were at the scene and were able to knock the fire down in about 20 minutes.
Engine 80 arrived first and light smoke was showing from the building. Firefighters discovered a fire hidden inside a wall between two businesses. Additional units helped evacuate the building while crews worked to isolate and extinguish the fire.
There were no injuries and the cause of the fire is being investigated.
