Plans for Israel to annex the Gaza Strip and remain in Palestinian territory indefinitely have been approved by the Israeli cabinet.
The Associated Press is reporting that the plan would require that as many as hundreds of thousands of Palestinians to be removed to the south.
While no formal announcement has been made, it’s reported that Israeli army reserves are being called up.
The AP also reports that news of the plan may actually be a negotiating move to persuade Hamas to accept some unpleasant terms in ceasefire negotiations.
Surprising shift on access to abortion pills
In what some observers are calling surprising, the Trump administration asked a federal judge on Monday to toss out a lawsuit that aims to place strong restrictions on access to the abortion pill mifepristone.
According to The New York Times, that’s a similar position that the Biden administration took several years ago.
The case at hand is an attempt to reverse federal Food and Drug Administration policies that widened the availability of mifepristone.
The Justice Department is asking for dismissal on the grounds that the complaint has “no connection to the Northern District of Texas” where the lawsuit suit had originated.
