A flare gun was used in the fatal shooting of a man in Huntington Beach on Friday night.
According to the HBPD, the incident took place near the intersection of Florida Street and Utica Avenue. Officers responded to a report of a shooting at around 8:40 p.m.
The victim suffered from a single gunshot wound. Huntington Beach Fire Department personnel rendered medical aid and took him to a local hospital where he later succumbed.
Police say the suspect – identified only as a male juvenile – initially left the scene but was quickly located. The suspect weapon was recovered and the suspect was booked into Orange County Juvenile Hall on one count of murder.
