A TUSTIN resident was arrested for the murder of a resident of Orange (Shutterstock).

A Tustin man has been arrested for the stabbing death of a resident of Orange.

According to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department, Melchor Aleszi. 20, of Tustin was arrested and booked into Orange County Jail for homicide in the death of Sergio Esquivel Sanchez, 24, of Orange.

On Friday at around 1:24 a.m., deputies were called to the area of Rancho Santiago Boulevard and Hewes Street in unincorporated Orange close to the Orange Flood Control Basin in response to reports of people screaming and “possibly fighting.”

While deputies investigated, they were advised by Sheriff’s Dispatch that a man – Sanchez – had been brought to a local hospital with a stab wound to the chest. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.

After investigation, it was determined that Aleszi was suspected of stabbing the victim and arrested.
