It’s been more than a month, but the Santa Ana Police Department doesn’t give up easily.

SAPD is seeking the public’s help in locating a suspect who went “shopping” for – and stole – about $1,500 worth of merchandise from a Stater Bros. supermarket and left in a pickup truck.

SUSPECT in Stater Bros. theft (SAPD).

The incident took place on Wednesday, June 2 at the market at 2630 W. Edinger Ave. The suspect entered with a shopping cart with a tool hidden under his clothing.

He then went to multiple aisles and used the tool to unlock several cabinets containing expensive liquor. The alcohol, a cooler and food was grabbed before leaving the store without paying.

According to police, the suspect left the scene in a white Ford-150 pickup truck.

He is described as a male Hispanic about 25-35 years old with brown eyes and a black beard. He had a medium build and was wearing a brown T-shirt, light blue jeans and a black Chicago White Sox baseball cap.

Anyone with information about the suspect is asked to contact Detective R. Wilson at (714) 245-8551 or rashadwilson@santa-ana.org.
