A fugitive suspect in a shooting in a March 2025 incident in Huntington Beach was arrested Thursday in Huntington Beach.
According to the HBPD, taken into custody was Sergio Mario Guevara, 38, of Huntington Beach.
He was booked into the city jail for attempted murder.
The original incident took place on March 16 at around 8:50 p.m. in the area of the 7000 block of Mandrell Drive, near Oak View Elementary School.
Arriving officers found two victims suffering from gunshot wounds which were not life-threatening. The suspect had fled before police were on the scene.
The shooter was identified as Guevara and the incident is believed to have been gang-related.
He was arrested without incident near Beach Boulevard and Warner Avenue. The HBPD SWAT team served a search warrant at a home in the 7800 block of Slater Ave.
