Four people were injured in a multi-vehicle crash on the Garden Grove (22) Freeway earlier this week.
According to the Orange County Fire Authority, the incident took place in the eastbound lanes of the freeway.
Engine 83, based in Garden Grove, arrived on the scene first. Firefighters quickly assessed the scene and established command of the incident.
Three persons – of which one was trapped – were in one vehicle and a fourth was undergoing CPR treatment by California Highway Patrol officers.
Truck 81 – also based in Garden Grove, used the “Jaws of Life” to extricate the trapped patient, who was transported to the hospital. That happened as the patient needing CPR was also transported to a local hospital.
