Nine major colleges and universities have been offered favorable access to federal funding by President Donald Trump.
The Associated Press is reporting that the “Compact for Academic Excellence in Higher Education” would bind the colleges to accept the White House’s priorities on definitions of gender (and apply that to campus restrooms, locker rooms and women’s sports teams) as well as stop considering race,
gender and student demographics in the admissions program, as well as requiring applicants to take the SAT or ACT.
The colleges invited are Vanderbilt, Penn, Dartmouth, USC, MIT, University of Texas, University of Arizona, Brown University and the University of Virginia.
The deadline for a decision is Nov. 21.
Sports: Rams fumble away a win
The Los Angeles Rams played well enough to win Thursday night but also made enough mistakes to lose – and they did – in overtime to the San Francisco Giants, 26-23.
Trailing 17-0 early, the Rams rallied and sent the game into overtime. But en route, they fumbled the ball away on the 49ers 1-yard line and missed a field goal and an extra point.
In the closing seconds of overtime, the Rams had the ball fourth and goal from the SF 1-yard line and couldn’t push it in.
With the loss, the Rams are 3-2. The Niners are 4-1.
Matthew Stafford passed for 383 yards and three TDs for the Rams.
