Having just survived two wins over the Philadelphia Phillies by the skin of their teeth in their National League Division Series, the Los Angeles Dodgers will hope to give the visiting team the back of their hands tonight (Wednesday) at Chavez Ravine.

Planning to complete a sweep of the NLCS, Manager Dave Roberts will send the team’s other Japanese star – right-hander Yoshinobu Yamamoto to the mound. He had a solid 12-8 season record – with a 2.84 ERA. And, if you’re superstitious, he’s never lost a post-season game (3-0).

If the Dodgers win the Series, they’ll face the winner of the Milwaukee-San Diego series, currently led by the Brewers 2-0.

On Monday, the Blue Crew won not with a barrage of home runs but with “dinks and doinks” capped by a single by Shohei Ohtani into shallow right field to score Max Muncy with the fourth run of the inning.

The game has been a scoreless deadlock for sixth innings until Dodger bats woke up – somewhat – and built a 4-0 lead.

However, the home team made it close and the visitors nervous with one run in the eighth and two in the ninth.
