Six Huntington Beach businesses were recently cited for illegal sale of smoking and vaping products to minors
According to the HBPD, the Special Investigations Bureau launched a proactive enforcement program in response to community complaints about such activity.
On Wednesday, detectives carried out a decoy operation using volunteer minors and made compliance inspections at several locations in the city.
Two businesses were cited for selling nicotine products to a minor. Four others were cited for selling flavored nicotine products prohibited under the state and health code.
Violations of state tobacco laws can result in fines and possible suspension or revocation of a license to sell tobacco product.
