Former Trump adviser indicted

JOHN BOLTON, former national security adviser (Wikipedia).

Former Donald Trump adviser turned critic John Bolton was indicted Thursday, charged with 18 counts of improper use of U.S. defense documents by the Department of Justice.

It’s alleged he shared over 1,000 pages of government actions with relatives in a diary he kept and that his e-mail account was hacked by an organization claimed to be connected with Iran, according to the Associated Press.

Bolton’s attorney denied any misconduct and Bolton criticized the action by the Department for Justice as further “weaponization” of federal agencies as retribution against those the president considered political enemies.

During Donald Trump’s first term as president, Bolton was National Security Adviser for 17 months. Originally a supporter of Trump’s foreign policy Bolton was fired in 2019 after arguments over Iran, North Korea and Afghanistan.
